Tiny Writing BookWorkshop with Carol Palleson
Tiny Writing in Review
By BY Sonjia Amensen

When I heard that Susan Karrasch was arranging for Carol Palleson to return to Iowa to give another CAGCI workshop I said ‘sign me up’. I had taken her ‘Cards, Covers and Closures’ workshop in the spring of 2003 as well as a ‘Clothesline Caps’ breakout session from her at the Legacies conference in the summer of 2005. I guess you could say that Carol seemed like a familiar friend that was visiting us again. That feeling was defi nitely shared by Susan since she has been a friend of Carol’s for many years.

We started out by doing Tiny Writing which is a san serif monoline italic. It was a chance for me to dust off my
crowquill pen. For myself, it will take a lot of practice to become a profi cient tiny writer, but I look forward to
spending more time doing it.

Our next project was a tiny hinged book – yes, a metal hinge. The end result is so cool. And then we made a tiny box to hold the book. How cute!
